What we’ve been doing in the Toddler’s Room? We did lots of winter arts and crafts activities to express our creativity. We did spray painting, mixing colours and pasting. We added an ocean theme table to extend childrens interest on sea creatures and also from our song “Little Fishes”. We also used this theme to make a blue playdough with little fishes to play with. We used musical instruments and action songs during times. Lots of reading and games. We are learning different colours, shapes and the alphabet. We go outside even in cold days and wet days. We pretended to do camping drinking warm milo and eating marshmallows. We are always busy and learning everyday. ... See MoreSee Less
Ellie has been telling us all about the camping adventures! Chocolate milk and marshmallows have been talked about a lot! 😊😍
Absolutely love the tree!
Many hands make light work! The children in the Babies Room have been experimenting with collage, paint and cellophane on contact. This has created a beautiful winter display including clouds, raindrops and snow flakes. They have also made some great winter outfits complete with coats and woolly babies - much needed in a Beechworth winter when we are out in the fresh air. A very enthusiastic group of artists in our room. ... See MoreSee Less

National Simultaneous Storytime and Covid-19 National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and other places around the country. Now in its 20th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6. A face-to-face NSS event is unlikely to be possible this year, so the children at BCCCC joined in a virtual event. We watched Emma from the Wiggles read us a story called Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas at 11am on 27 May 2020. ... See MoreSee Less

We’ve been blown away by the generosity of our families; in the last week we’ve received gifts of laundry airers, digital cameras, and donations towards a few bigger items for our rooms. We can’t thank you enough!
If you were still wanting to give, we need one tower clothes airer and one more camera. Please have a chat to Mandy if you have any questions or would like to donate something else.

Chocolate lace seedlings are $3 each, or 4 for $10, and are available to be picked up from the centre now. They'll be snapped up quickly so be sure to get yours as soon as possible!
A huge thank you to Issy from Scout's Garden, a local flower farm with a big heart!• FUNDRAISER • One of my favourite flowers in the patch is chocolate lace: it produces delicate starbursts of white, soft pink and burgundy from spring right through to autumn! Whilst pulling out some of my beds on the weekend I discovered lots of self sown seedlings so I have potted them up to sell as a fundraiser for Beechworth Community Childcare Centre. $3 each or 4 for $10 - every dollar goes to the centre. If you need a little extra something for Mother’s Day, consider a gift that will give her flowers for many weeks from your own garden! Purchase at the centre if you have children attending there, or I also have some at home. Cash only. Happy to deliver 🤗 ... See MoreSee Less
The preschoolers have enjoyed the interactive book, Mix It Up, telling the kids how to mix paint but it makes them think they have magic fingers when the colours change.
