Our Team

Our team have extensive experience in the childcare industry and are committed to offering first class, educational care for children in Beechworth and surrounding communities.

Our educators all have formal training, with many years of knowledge and experience in the years learning sector. Many of the educators at Beechworth Community Child Care have been employed at the service for over ten years.

The educators are trained to provide educational programs that promote learning and development. We support families with our professional knowledge and experience, as well as listen to and respect family values and child rearing practices.

Our Centre is managed by Mandy, who has been with the centre for over twenty. She has strong knowledge of the service and community that we live in, and if there is something she doesn’t know she will endeavour to find out.

The centre is well known in the community for its high level of professionalism and its standard of education.

Our centre is a good example of a place where children can feel safe, happy, and develop a sense of belonging within their community.

Importantly, the educators support each other and are each other’s guides, mentors, and friends. They set an excellent example for the children. We can also boast a low staff turnover with our longest educators being with us for over twenty years.

The educators undertake a range of professional development including Music and Movement with Ladybirds, First Aid every three, CPR Updates annually, Anaphylaxis training every two, Asthma training every two, Mandatory reporting training annually and many other professional training.

Our Kitchen

Beechworth Community Childcare Centre provides children with morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.

Our catering officer prepares all the children’s meals on the premises. Our menu has been assessed by the Healthy Together Eating Advisory Service and meets the menu planning guidelines for long day care.

Children are offered food appropriate to their stage of development with ‘new’ foods being introduced in consultation with parents.

Our amazing Catering Officer is an experienced and passionate catering officer who ‘shops in town’ to sources food locally supporting local businesses for the food we use at the centre.

We buy locally sourced and in-season produce whenever possible and buy from Arnolds Fruit and Vege, CC’s Butchery, and our local IGA.

*Special dietary needs are catered for by the service in consultation with the Director and Catering.

Our Committee

The Centre is managed by a Committee of Management.

The Committee is elected annually at the AGM, held in October of each year. The Management Committee is the employing body and is responsible for major decisions made regarding the running of the centre.

All parents are invited to become a member of the committee and this can be done at any time during the year.

Becoming a committee member enables you to have a say in the decisions and plans that may affect your child. You will meet wonderful parents and get to know the amazing educators who spend so much time with your children. It is truly worthwhile!

You can tailor your involvement in the centre to your interests and skills. There are many different ways to get involved. We are in constant need of helpers in our garden and for minor repairs.

We also need parents to help run a number of fundraisers throughout the year including a sausage sizzle, cake stall, pie drive, Christmas raffle & trivia night.
